"Speak A Name"
Whether or not you like or loathe your name (any Matilda’s or Agatha’s out there?), there is something almost reverential about hearing your name spoken from another’s lips before the Father’s throne in prayer. When my father-in-law, Bill, visits our home, he honors each family member by name by remembering us to the Father in our evening prayers.
And you know the population of people that are most dependable in praying for others by name, don’t you? The mommas! I am convinced of one thing – God honors a mother’s faithful prayer. He does. It doesn’t always look like I want it to look and He is most definitely on another time zone than I am but He is faithful with His unfailing love.
So I am asking you to add a child to your prayer list for the next 30 days. There are no names, just faces. They are the faces of the children of Honduras who have no one speaking their names to Father. Go ahead, look at their pictures and make up a name. Then please use that name to approach Father’s throne on their behalf, asking Him to rescue them from the streets, the mountains, the years of waiting in the state-run orphanage, the poverty of their land.
Every child needs a momma lifting his or her name each night and I know these children won’t hear your voice but the One who answers prayer will. May God bless your momma heart.
Lovingly,
Kay
